Neyland Yacht Club is a friendly, family orientated sailing club located on the North bank of the River Cleddau, enjoying superb views of the river up and down stream. We cater for yacht, dinghy and motor boat owners and there is a longboat rowing club amalgamated to the Yacht Club.
There are regular club races for both dinghies and keelboats throughout the Spring and Summer as well as a Winter series for keelboats and a Frostbite Series for dinghies. We also hold an Open Regatta for keelboats and dinghies with separate starts for each and Cruiser Week for keelboats. See our fixtures page for what's on this year. NYC has hosted class championships for dinghies and yachts too.
As a recognised RYA training centre the club runs a programme of sessions for juniors to learn the skills and feel the joy of sailing in a safe environment with trained instructors. See our junior sailing page for more details.
Our motor boat members have a wonderful stretch of water to explore and many varied places to visit. We also arrange club rallies for everyone now and again. We have ample car and boat parking facilities with good access to the water at all states of the tide. During the Summer months, we benefit from the use of the adjacent public jetty and pontoon.
The Clubhouse has two large sundecks and an enclosed conservatory offering unbroken views of all the activity on the water. Membership is available for sailors, social members and corporates at very reasonable prices. From April to the end of September, the club is open every evening Monday to Saturday and Sunday lunchtime. From October to March, we close on Monday and Tuesday evenings.
The Clubhouse is also home to the Alumchine bar & restaurant which serves excellent meals and varied menus at sensible prices. The restaurant facilities can also be made available for private functions outside normal opening hours.
News and events
See poster below for Tenby Regatta 10th & 11th July. It includes the classic Round Caldey Race on the Sunday and substantial cash prizes! Note maximum PY for entries is 1147 for the Round Caldey race, sorry Tera's!. If there is sufficient interest we can field an NYC team to compete for the £500 prize, get in touch with Simon at firstname.lastname@example.org...
Unfortunately, we have made the decision to postpone our Dinghy Regatta due to the availability of volunteer race officials and a clash with another event. It will no longer take place on 22nd / 23rd May as scheduled. We hope to reschedule for later in the year and will update everyone as soon as possible. We appreciate that this will be a disappointment to everyone who had made plans to join...
